This property was completely buried in kudzu when we found it. After removing the growth and discovering that the structure was indeed intact, we decided to add about 600 sqft of living space and the porches to the front to give it the architectural appeal that you see now.
Engelke Homes recently began renovation on 52 Ashe Street in downtown Charleston, SC. Every project we undertake is an adventure. 52 Ashe proves this once again as recently discovered an 19th century Fire Well hidden under old floor board. At first puzzled and bemused we turned this discovery into an added architectural element to the interior design.

Our completed home will feature this well in the living room lighted through a piece of glass in the floor.
